Zia putting on a hat

Wendy let me hack into her blog to make this post of Zia putting on her hat. Shem helped with the captions. :) Enjoy, Ruth

From Wendy...

Ruth is my amazing Sister-In-Law. She is the one that takes the cutest pictures of my children! Shem (her husband), Corom's brother did the captions. Thanks so much I love it!!! (F.Y.I. She is so dirty because we were camping!!! But then again she is Zia and she always has food on her face!) That is why we call her "Our Messy Girl!"

"Boy my head is hot, but I'm loving this feeling of yogurt on my face."

"I know, I'll take off my hat...Uh oh...maybe that wasn't a good idea."
"How do I get this thing back on?"
"Maybe if I come from behind..."
"Or maybe I should twist it on."
"If I could just get my fingers underneath..."
"Forget the hat, I look super cute without it anyway."

My sister-in-law came over yesterday and took some photos of our family and Kaybrie. Here is one of them.

I bought this basket when I was pregnant with Zia. I always wanted to get a newborn picture of Zia in it, but that never happened. So I am excited to atleast have one with Kaybrie in it!

Kaybrie Dawn Thompson

We are all so glad to finally have Kaybrie here. She is such a good baby! Malik and Zia have taken to her so well. When Kaybrie is crying they both ask "what is she saying?".
Kaybrie weighed 8 lbs 1 oz and was 20 1/2" long. I was so hoping not to be in labor in the middle of the night, but well that didn't happen! She came at 2:34 am. But I am glad that she is finally here!
Here are some photos we took at the hospital.

Malik (how I was most worried about with our new addition) did amazingly well! He ran into the room and gave me a huge hug and then walked right up to Kaybrie and gave her a kiss! He has had not problems at all. He is so tender and loving with her!

Zia 0n the other hand didn't quite know what to think. She was a little taken back at the hospital. But once we can home she has showed no problems with Kaybrie.
This is Yaya (Corom's Mom). Malik and Zia got to stay with her while we were in the hospital and they both had a ball! I don't think they missed us at all! I am so thankful to her for all she does for us!

Eye surgery

Many people have been asking me if we ever had Zia's eye surgery. Well we did have it back in Febuary. I don't have a good before shot but here is an after shot. The doctor said "just a warning her eyes will be red for about 2 weeks". I didn't think that he meant BLOOD Red!!

Everywhere I went I got some serious looks. Some were like what have you done to your daughter, others what is wrong with her eyes!
Also note that this picture was taken about 2 weeks after the surgery!!!

Now her eyes are perfectly straight and not to mention not red either!

Nesting or just a perfectionist?

Malik has a little tikes house at his preschool that he and Zia just love. I thought that it would be fun to get them one for our backyard. So I looked and looked on craigslist for a good one.

So on Saturday we picked it up. I thought that we should level the ground (and move the sand box)....

then I thought that we needed a walkway....

then I thought we needed grass (sod) and flowers with flower pot thing. (Corom came up with the rocks around the sand box.)
What was suppose to take a very short time ended up taking all Saturday! Thanks Corom!
By the way, Malik and Zia just love it!
